Sam moved back to South Bend in the spring of 2019, ready for a fresh start. On her first day at a new job, she met Ben, and what started as casual conversation quickly became the best part of the workday.

Since then, life together has included concerts, vacations, a slightly impressive DoorDash habit, and growing their little family with fur-baby brothers Odinn, Gizmo, and Professor Remus Lupin.

In the spring of 2025, Ben surprised Sam with a trip to the bluff outside the childhood condo her family once had; a place where she used to daydream about her future. There, overlooking the water, he got down on one knee. Of course, she said yes.
